Longmeadow travel clinic questions

Do I need an appointment at the Longmeadow clinic?

Yes, patients are seen by appointment only. Call (413) 200-4139. Phones are answered Monday through Thursday, 8am to 6pm.

Do you serve Springfield and northern Connecticut?

Yes. We are at 175 Dwight Rd in Longmeadow, minutes from Springfield and an easy drive from East Longmeadow, Westfield, Enfield and northern Connecticut.

Is it too late if my trip is soon?

No. Many vaccines still help even days before travel, and we can cover malaria prevention and travel health advice at the same visit.

Can my regular doctor give me travel vaccines?

Often not. Many primary care offices and pharmacies do not stock specialty vaccines like yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis or oral typhoid. We keep them in stock.

How long do travel vaccines last?

It varies. Yellow fever protects most people for life. The typhoid shot lasts about two years and the pills about five. Two doses of hepatitis A protect for decades.
