Yellow fever protection is recommended for most of Brazil, including many family destinations away from the coast. One dose protects most people for life, and the card becomes valid ten days after the shot. At your visit we also walk through food and water safety plus dengue and Zika precautions for your exact region.

How long does the yellow fever vaccine last?
For most people one dose protects for life. A booster only comes up in special cases, such as travel to an active outbreak ten or more years after vaccination.
Does insurance pay for travel vaccines?
We are not in network with any health insurance plan, and payment is collected at the end of your appointment. Many plans do not cover travel vaccines, so check with your insurer before your visit. We provide an itemized Superbill with insurance codes that you can submit to your plan if you choose.

Is the typhoid vaccine a shot or pills?
Both exist. The shot protects for about two years. The pills protect for about five years but take a week to finish, so plan ahead.
